Chalet Marie Stuart in Summer sunshine

Welcome to Chalet Marie Stuart, I am Caroline Morgan your host and chef.

Chalet Marie Stuart

I will make this quick and you can skip to the good stuff about why Samoëns is a great place to come on holiday.

I took on the renovation and running of the chalet in 2004 as a personal challenge after many years in hospitality working in Scotland, France and Austria. Part of my training in culinary arts took place in Lyon and I was fortunate enough to work alongside a Master Chef in my native Scotland.

Having run ski chalets for other companies I knew it was something I would enjoy doing for myself, and I still love it. My aim is for every group to have a relaxed, friendly and comfortable stay with food that surpasses your expectations.

I provide a no frills, no fuss service, great food and company come as a standard, they shouldn’t be a luxury. I stay true to my Scottish roots and don’t stand on ceremony, my guests should be as relaxed in the chalet as they are at home.

If this sounds like your kind of holiday I will look forward to welcoming you to Chalet Marie Stuart.

Area & Activities

Samoëns and the Grand Massif are bursting with activities winter and summer.

As one of the largest ski areas in France linking Samoëns to Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine even experienced skiers will find plenty of challenges in the 275km of piste. For the beginners out there Samoëns and Morillon offer gentle slopes and cruising green runs through the trees, so learning to ski is not a scary experience.

The village dates from 1438 and is beautiful and buzzing in all seasons. With a weekly market, a range of independent boutiques (it’s not all ski wear and hiking boots), restaurants, bars and the botanical gardens, Samoëns has something for everyone. It is the ideal resort to combine an activity holiday with relaxation and exploration.

You can come to Samoëns to carve fresh tracks, bag summits or conquer cols, or just ski to lunch, relax by the lakes, and take easy afternoon strolls. However you want to spend your holiday Chalet Marie Stuart is the home from home, from which to enjoy it.
