Location and Travel
Chalet Marie Stuart is beautifully sited at Le Petit Saix, a small hamlet about 800m from the charming, historic French village of Samoëns, which lies in the beautiful Giffre valley and is part of the Grand Massif.
The village is only an hour's drive from Geneva airport and is very easy to find. If you push the "-" sign on the embedded map below, you will see Lake Geneva to the north of the Chalet, and Geneva itself to the North-West

By air

By road
From Calais, Samoëns is about 9 hours drive. Follow the road signs leading to Geneva and eventually join the A40 Autoroute Blanche for Chamonix and Turin.
From Geneva Airport (CH) - Head for France and take the A40 Autoroute Blanche to Chamonix. After the French border there are two tolls (1.70€ & 1.80€ approx). The latter is at Exit 18 which is signposted Scionzier and leads straight in to Cluses. Follow the signposts through Cluses (it’s like an inner ring road) to Taninges, Les Gets, Samoëns.

From Cluses (about 20 minutes) – Take the road up the hill signposted to Taninges, Les Gets, Morzine, Samoëns. Once through Chatillon-sur-Cluses (at the top of the hill), continue towards Taninges. At the ddownhill hairpin bend, take the road to the right (virtually straight on) signposted to Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Go through (don’t take the by-pass) Morillon village, and continue towards Samoëns until you reach the right angle left bend at the bridge over the River Giffre, just outside Samoëns. Do not cross the bridge! You will see a signpost with Chalet Marie Stuart (amongst others) on it pointing up the hill to the right. Turn sharp right up the hairpin bend following the signs. The chalet is the first house on the right hand side (about 500m from the turn).
