Samoëns Bed & Breakfast or Self Catered Accommodation: Spring, Summer & Autumn
From late April to November, Chalet Marie Stuart operates as a Guest House, offering Bed & Breakfast in Samoens with dinner on request. We are open to groups for which discounts are offered, for full weeks Half-Board and for full occupancy. We welcome guests for short breaks, long weekends or mid-week. The chalet is available as a whole for full weeks on a self-catered basis. The chalet has six en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 14 people.
This beautiful, unspoilt region has a tremendous amount to offer as a holiday area for people who prefer a break in the warmer seasons. With its mountains, rivers and waterfalls it is a spectacular area to spend a summer family holiday. From Samoëns, you can tour the area and visit the countryside, or go to Chamonix, beautiful Annecy and other towns and villages. There are plenty of lovely places to visit. The flowers and the wildlife are wonderful. This is a paradise for artists and photographers. We will be pleased to direct you to places which we think are particularly worth visiting. Chalet Marie Stuart is the perfect 'base-camp' for your adventures around Samoëns, whether you are looking for bed and breakfast or self-catered accommodation.
New from 2009! - the Grand Massif Express lift to Samoëns 1600 is now open July/August! There are others nearby which also operate in the summer, allowing you to visit the mountains when they are not covered in snow, (see also Mountain biking below).
There are many places of historic interest and of natural history to visit. You may not have your car with you, but there are a number of excursions possible by coach. Or perhaps you are interested in a more active holiday?
Walking and rambling
The Samoëns area is well known for Alpine walking and rambling holidays. There are a number of 'refuges' in the mountains for those people who take their walking seriously. If you would like to experience 1 or 2 day treks which need an overnight stay in the mountains, we can help you to arrange accommodation in a 'refuge'.
Alpine Motorbiking
If you are planning a motorbike holiday in the Alps, why not use the chalet as your base and day tour around the remarkable locations and roads of the area from the Grand Massif to Lakes Annecy and Geneva?
Mountain biking in the Alps
The increasingly popular alpine summer sport. Up in one of the operating lifts - and down the snow-free pistes! Or, if you have the energy to pedal up the hill, our Giffre valley is the place to do it. Try the route Lac de Gers/Circuit des Cascades - 25 kms of fantastic scenery, with a lake and excellent restaurant en route. Cycling
If you prefer less challenging terrain there are plenty of beautiful routes in and around the valley. If you do not want to bring your own bike, bike or cycle hire can be arranged. During the weekend 24/25 July Samoens hosts the Coupe de France VTT cycing trials - come and join in, whether as spectator or competitor!
Parapente
Perhaps you would like to get your feet off the ground and enjoy a bird's eye view of the area, as well as the thrill of the experience.

Climbing
There are many opportunities for climbing and there is a via ferrata nearby.
Water sports
Wind-surfing and jetski are available near Samoëns. You may prefer the excitement of white water rafting or canoeing. Maybe you would just like a swim in the pool or a lake. These are all possible in the area. Perhaps you would prefer to stay outside the water and enjoy trout fishing, in Samoëns, or at Joux Plane or Lac de Gers (permits are required).
For Children
Many of the activities listed above are available for children which means that the whole family can enjoy the holiday together. There is also an 'Indiana Jones' Adventure Park in Samoëns where you can watch your children swing from the trees and return to the lifestyle of the jungle.
